One of the must-do activities in Cusco is a full-day visit to the famed suspension bridge, which is also the sole preserved Inca bridge. A grass rope bridge known as Q’eswachaka (pronounced Keshwa Chaca) is located in the town of Keshwa Chaca. The name is derived from two Quechua words: Qeswa, which means braid, and Chaka, which means bridge.
Many roads were created during the Inca civilization to improve connection inside the vast Inca empire. The most well-known was Qhapaq Nan (the Great Inca Road). It stretches for about 25000 miles. Suspension bridges were created in regions where a concrete road could not be erected owing to geographical constraints.

The Qeswachaka Rope Bridge Tour begins with a pickup from your Cusco accommodation. We’ll take you through Cusco’s South Valley to the province of Canas. We’ll stop along the road to see the lagoons of Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnacocha, and Pampamarca.
When we get in Canas province, our local expert will provide some background on the bridge and how the community is working to keep the age-old practice of rebuilding it every year alive.
Then we’ll cross the bridge. On the other side of the bridge, the community’s leader will greet you. You will then gain firsthand knowledge of their lifestyle. We’ll take a break here for lunch.
Following that, we will return to Cusco. We’ll drop you off at Plaza Regocijo, which is a block from Cusco’s main center.
