Cusco Hotel Transfer
0700 AM
At 7:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your Cusco hotel. Then, in our own private transportation, we’ll travel to Pisac. We’ll make a small halt at Taray at a viewpoint along the road.
It has a spectacular view of the valley below. In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, you will be able to view the Urubamba River flowing past the towns.
One of the largest and most beautiful inca sites, perched on a hilltop overlooking the hamlet, is located in Pisac. We will drive you up the hill to the complex’s main entrance. Our local expert will take you on a tour of the complex here.
We’ll take you down to the main square after you’ve toured the facility. The small cobblestone lanes here fill up with locals selling their goods on weekends.
We’ll drive you to Urubamba once you’ve had your fill of this lovely settlement. It is the lowest point of the Inca Sacred Valley. We’ll have a buffet lunch at a local restaurant while we’re here.
We will continue the tour and visit Ollantaytambo after enjoying a traditional lunch. During the Inca Empire, this was the most important place. You will be able to see the Incas’ urban planning progress here. Ollantaytambo is one of the Inca empire’s oldest and continually inhabited settlements.
Two Inca ruins are situated between the settlement and the ruins. This is also where you will board the train that will take you to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail.
Following our tour of Ollantaytambo, we will go to Maras and Moray. Both of these locations have played an important role in the past and continue to do so today. Moray has circular agricultural terraces that the Incas used as an agricultural laboratory.
The salt mines are located at Maras. It’s been passed down through the generations. The traditional Solar Evaporation salt farming technology is still used by the locals. Our local specialist will go over everything with you in great detail.
We will visit Chinchero at the end of our full-day sacred valley tour. Andean textile is produced there. Tourists frequently overlook this lovely and peaceful town. It now houses a white-washed chapel that was previously the Incan ruler Pachacutec’s imperial palace.
Chinchero has the most fertile soil of all the Sacred Valley sites. Many farming terraces were erected during the Inca civilization, under the reign of Pachacutec. The water canals here are a monument to Inca engineering’s progress.
We will drive you back to Cusco city later that evening. We’ll drop you off at Plaza Regocijo, which is a block from Cusco’s main square, Plaza de Armas.
